Is Your Check-Engine Light On?
I'm so loving the Radical Remission Docuseries - currently available at discover.hayhouse.com. Today's topic is nutrition which, of course, is near and dear to my heart. The beauty of today's guest survivors is that they each approached nutrition differently. There is no 'one size fits all' approach to anti-cancer nutrition. There are some general rules that we know to be true:
1 Chronic inflammation in the body leads to degenerative diseases.
2. Lifestyle factors either work against our healing and ultimate wellness, or work in synergy with conventional medicine.
3. VEGETABLES are the one dietary component that is at the center of physical wellness and help reduce inflammation.
One of today's subjects, Allison, is such an interesting case. An accomplished athlete and downhill skier, she found herself in adulthood plagued with a whole host of chronic illnesses: migraines, PCOS, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, arthritis, chronic bladder & yeast infections, and breast fibroids. In her own words, her body's 'CHECK ENGINE' light was on but she insisted on putting tape over it again and again. Her body was speaking to her - in fact it was crying out to her for change - but it wasn't until she was diagnosed with a brain tumor that she woke up.
Her story and details of her nutritional journey are available in the 2nd episode of the Radical Remission Docuseries. I encourage everyone to make a point of watching these episodes daily for the next 8 days. Hay House releases one episode per day - which centers on one Radical Remission factor each day.
Friends ... our bodies speak to us. In migraines ... digestive issues ... fatigue ... increased anxiety ... chronic illness and chronic pain ... etc. It speaks to us but it's up to us to respond in ways that promote our wellness. Our lifestyle choices effect our biology in real and meaningful ways. The good news is .... our lifestyle choices effect our biology in real and meaningful ways. That means that there are things WE can do to improve our physical quality of life. With regard to diet here are the cliff notes: consume a variety of vegetables daily, consume fruits daily, omit processed foods or any foods with dyes, chemicals or preservatives, limit dairy and gluten, consume nuts and seeds. Beyond that the variations number in the millions. If you start here, you will be impressed with the outcome.
Blessings !!
